Baptism

For the baptism of an infant or child, parents should contact Loretta Maksimik, the Director of Pastoral Life, at the church office, (908) 647-3224. Loretta will help you schedule a date, and the priest or deacon who will be performing the baptism will contact you to arrange for a pre-baptism class.

Any adult who desires to be baptised or receive any of the other Sacraments of Initiation (First Eucharist and Confirmation) should call also call the number above, and Loretta will put you in contact with Deacon Walter Maksimik, who runs the R.C.I.A. program at our church.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Penance is available every Saturday from 4pm-4:45pm in the Church, or by appointment. For an appointment, please call the church office, (908) 647-1075.

First Holy Communion

Children receive First Communion during their 2nd grade year in Religious Education. See the Religious Education page for more information.

Confirmation

Students prepare for confirmation during the 7th and 8th grade religious education classes. Confirmation is received during the fall of the 9th grade year. See the Religious Education page for more information.

Marriage

Music & Scheduling:

Couples who would like to get married at Our Lady of the Mount need to contact Sylvia Smalley, at the church office, (908) 647-1075 or email, to arrange for a date and a presider. Music can be discussed with Marion Doerr, Music Ministry Director at (908) 647-0451 or via email. Click here for a list of repetoire and cantor mp3 samples.

Paperwork:

The priest or deacon who will be presiding at the wedding will meet with the couple to complete paperwork and inventories required by the church and by the state.

Pre-Cana:

Everyone who gets married in the Catholic Church must participate in a preparation program. Pre-Cana is a series of meetings and conversations with a couple who has been married for a long time.

Engaged Encounter is a weekend retreat. Both give the engaged couple an opportunity to take a serious look at the commitment they are making and the decisions that will face them in their future life together. Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament for those who are aged, seriously ill, or preparing for surgery. Call the parish office, (908) 647-1075, to request for a priest to visit your home or the hospital to administer the sacrament.
