Adult Choir
The Adult Choir is open to all high school students and adults, regardless of their vocal experience. The Adult Choir sings every Sunday, usually at the 10:30am Mass. This group sings a wide variety of choral repertoire and leads the assembly's song. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 7:45-9:30pm in the church.
Folk Choir
The Folk Choir is open to adults, high school students and families with children aged 10 and up. This choir includes guitar and percussion instruments, and needs people willing to play those instruments. The choir sings at the 12noon Mass on alternate Sundays and 5pm Mass on the opposite Sunday. Rehearsal are rehearses on their "off" Sundays at 11:30am until 12:30 pm.
Children's Choir
The Children's Choir is open to all children in grades 3 to 8. The Children's Choir sings at the Family Mass each month. The choir also participates in the Plainfield Area Children's Choir Festival in the spring. The Children's Choir rehearses Thursday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30pm in the church.
The Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir is open to people from grade 5 to adult. No experience is necessary in order to join. You will be taught how to ring the bells and how to follow music (if necessary). Handbell rehearsals are Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9pm in the church.
Cantors
Cantors lead the song of the assembly at mass when no choir is singing. They are also responsible for singing the Psalm. Some singing ability and experience are necessary for cantors, however, training is provided for potential cantors. Anyone interested in being a cantor should contact the Director of Sacred Music. Rehearsal are one Wednesday a month at 7:45 pm
Mixed Chorale
The Mixed Chorale is a small group of more experienced singers who sing for special events. Rehearsal are as needed. Anyone interested in participating in the Mixed Chorale should contact the Director of Sacred Music. |
