Fr. Sean Kenney, Pastor

Born on September 18, 1960 in West Islip, Long Island, Father Sean is the 4th of 9 children born of John and Frances Kenney. His brothers Kevin, Paul, Gavin, Colin (deceased), Neil, Michael, and sisters Kerry and Maryanna, their spouses and 14 nephews and nieces live along the East Coast, upstate New York, Long Island, Northern Virginia and Florida.

Father Sean's family are lifelong parishoners of Saint Lawrence The Martyr Parish in Sayville, L.I.. He attended grades 1 through 8 at the parish school and graduated from Sayville H.S. in 1978.

Following graduation, Father Sean joined the order of Friars Minor (Franciscans) in Kennebunkport, Maine. After simple profession, he studied at Holy Angels College and Seminary in Cromwell, CT. where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a Master's Degree in Divinity. After two years in Seminary at St. Anthony on Hudson, Rensselaer, NY, Father Sean returned to Holy Apostles Seminary to complete his final two years of studies as a candidate for the Diocese of Metuchen.

Following his Ordination on May 25, 1991, Father Sean was assigned to St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen, where he remained from 1991-1994. He later spent one year at Our Lady of Mount Virgin in Middlesex, prior to a 5 year term at St. James in Woodbridge, from 1995-200. In 2000, he was assigned to Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, where he also served as Chaplain at Immaculata High School. This assignment was followed by two years at our neighboring parish, St. James Church in Basking Ridge. He arrived at Our Lady of the Mount in April of 2005, where he served as administrator until his installation as Pastor on April 23, 2006.
